QDMA Convention's Seminar Schedule

Keeping with its reputation as a leader in deer hunting education, QDMA will offer several informative seminars that are hands-on and fun for the entire family! These sessions will include traditional seminars, field trips and workshops for small groups focused on hunting tips and strategies.

Seminars & Workshops:

This year’s seminars and workshops at The Classic Center will include:

  • Hemorrhagic Disease: New Viruses and Changing Patterns, Dr. David Stalknecht, wildlife disease expert
  • Buck Excursions: Making Sense of the Movements, Matt Ross, QDMA
  • Interactive Aging on the Hoof, Kip Adams & Joe Hamilton, QDMA
  • Whitetail Ramblings, Open-mic session with the speaker panel
  • Wildlife Photography & Videography, Tes & Ron Jolly, Jolly’s Outdoor Visions
  • Debunking the Most Common Deer Management Myths, Dr. Craig Harper, University of Tennessee
  • Patterning Mature Bucks Throughout the Season, Dr. Grant Woods, GrowingDeer.TV
  • Filming Your Own Hunt, Paul Sawyer & Nick Skinner, Whitetail Properties TV
  • Hunting Pressure & Buck Movements, Clint McCoy, wildlife biologist
  • Deer Vocalizations and Groundbreaking Vision Research, Dr. Karl Miller, University of Georgia
  • Whitetails Today & Tomorrow, Kip Adams, QDMA

Field Modules:

Hands-on field modules at QDMA National Headquarters (bus transportation will be provided) will include:

  • Hinge Cutting for Enhanced Deer Habitat & Movement Patterns, Jim Brauker, Whitetail Ambush Secrets
  • Bow Tuning & Shooting Tips, Ryan Furrer, QDMA, national champion archer
  • Fine-Tuning Food Plot Equipment, Rans Thomas, Cabela’s Wildlife & Land Management
  • Advanced Stand Placement and Safety, Justin Thayer, wildlife biologist

Field Trips:

Field trips (bus transportation will be provided) will be taken Friday and Saturday mornings for tours of:

  • University of Georgia Deer Research Facility

Additionally, other noted experts making appearances at this year’s National Convention will include professional angler, avid whitetail hunter and award-winning TV show host Hank Parker, co-host of Bass Pro Shops’ King of Bucks Allen Treadwell and many others.

On top of these many great speakers, the 2014 National Convention will include QDMA’s first-ever Outdoorsman’s Challenge and an incredible amount of live music! Further details about the Outdoorsman’s Challenge and live music acts scheduled to appear will be announced soon.
